New Single

"SOS D'un Terrien En Détresse"

Cover of Michel Berger & Daniel Balavoine · Third single from Keeping the Fire

An instrumental reinvention of Daniel Balavoine's 1980 anthem "SOS D'un Terrien En Détresse," transforming the original's plea into explosive, wordless urgency. Saxophone and piano move from intimate dialogue to synth-laced intensity. Third single from Keeping the Fire, Eyal Netzer's second album as a duo with Milton Michaeli — a French classic reframed through contemporary Israeli jazz.

Second Single

"Alon, A Pianist in Captivity"

Original by Eyal Netzer · Second single from Keeping the Fire

Builds like a mantra — a melancholic, repeating sax-and-piano figure that gradually turns romantic through sheer patience. A restrained, intimate piece where repetition becomes both longing and hope.

Dedicated to Alon Ohel.

First Single

"Not Mine, Nor Yours — It's Just Happiness"

Original by Eyal Netzer · First single from Keeping the Fire

A cry rendered as duet: tenor sax and piano in raw, rhythmic dialogue between turbulence and tenderness, recorded during wartime. Spiritual free jazz built on improvisation and a strong melodic core — intense, unresolved, alive.

Forthcoming Album

Keeping the Fire

Eyal Netzer & Milton Michaeli · Duo · November 2026

Keeping the Fire is the second full-length album from the Eyal Netzer / Milton Michaeli duo, due November 2026, following 2023's Shine. Recorded for tenor saxophone and piano, it continues the duo's approach — strong melodic writing paired with open improvisation — but pushes further into intensity and rhythmic drive, shaped in part by the wartime conditions the sessions were recorded under. Singles will roll out ahead of the album; this page will be updated as each one lands.

About the Duo

Eyal Netzer / Milton Michaeli is a saxophone and piano duo rooted in free improvisation, strong melodic writing, and deep musical listening. Eyal Netzer, a saxophonist and composer active across jazz, improvised music, and contemporary composition, brings a sound shaped by spiritual jazz and Middle Eastern musical traditions. Pianist Milton Michaeli has performed and recorded with leading figures of the free jazz and improvised music worlds, including Hamid Drake and William Parker. Together, they have developed a highly responsive musical language in which written material and spontaneous invention continually reshape one another.
